Kwaw Kese Apologies for Weed Legalization Comment & Takes Down Post

Yesterday, the rapper who was recently convicted for smoking weed in Ghana boldly took to instagram to call for the legalisation of weed—claiming that 80% of Ghanaians smoke weed so this should be done for them.

He added that, since 80% of Ghanaians smoke weed, legalising the substance will give those people who have made that choice the freedom to enjoy the substance which sits on Ghana’s statute book as illegal.

It was an interesting comment for two reasons; we don’t know where he got the 80% statistics from—and also, Kwaw had a different attitude towards weed when his ganja case was in court
