SPORTS: Andre Aye Can Be Great At Swansea City

Andrea Ayew has praised Swansea City boss Garry Monk and expressed his optimism that the Welsh outfit can ‘achieve greatness’ in the Premier League during the coming campaign.
Dede signed for the Swans on a free transfer at the end of last season when his contract with Olympique de Marseille ran out. Despite being tipped to join several of Europe’s major sides, Ayew opted for Swansea, and is clearly settling in well at the Liberty Stadium.
The 25-year-old has had particular praise for his new coach, Monk: "I've been surprised with the quality I've seen from all the players, and also the quality of all the staff around us,” Ayew began, speaking to Swansea’s official website.
"We have a very good manager who wants us to play in a certain way. He knows what he wants and we have to listen to him,” he continued, “together we can all help the squad achieve greatness."
The forward continued to discuss his first impressions of his new teammates and their training routine, and confirmed that he was managing to settle into his new surroundings.
"I am settling in really well. The group is good and I've enjoyed training,” Dede continued.
"It’s very important for me to get to know them. Although I’ve been watching them play for the last few years, I need to get to know them personally and get used to the style of play too.
"The guys have helped me settle in very well. They have been really cool with me, and I thank them for that.”
Ayew managed 10 goals and three assists in 28 Ligue 1 outings last term, but was unable to help OM into the Champions League.
Swans fans would surely be delighted with this kind of return during the 2015-16 campaign, particularly in the demanding surroundings of the Premier League, although it remains to be seen how quickly he can adapt to a new context.
Ayew’s foray into the EPL will represent the first time he has ever featured for a club outside of France, having previously turned out for boyhood club Marseille, FC Lorient and Arles-Avignon.
